Heater Knob Fault

My DS3 has developed an annoying fault.
When turning the heater knob it only turns roughly 3/4 so we can't get it hot. There seems to be a sponge feel as it's turned to 3/4 clockwise which means it won't twist all the way round. Feels like there may be a physical item blocking the turn but not sure how!!
Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

If it was me (sometimes things end badly.... I'm not saying I'd good at breaking things.... but...) I would take the panel off and investigate.

Looking online there are some other fixes for other cars, such a the rod is bent that connects the dial or the nut behind the dial itself could be loose. In most cases it looks like something just needs a tweak. OR you might find that the knob has broken or cracked over the dial where it should sit on the control dial.
