  • Help!!!! Engine management light

I have 2013 ds3 1.6 petrol. Started juddering in 3rd when accelerating every now and again, drove for 5 minutes later on and it was juddering a lot worse and then engine management light came on. I turned the engine off and the fan was on full still. It's only done 52,000 miles!. Thanks in advance

Do you have the VTi (non-turbo) or THP (turbo) engine?

    Will help diagnose the problem

I think mine is actually the VTi lol. opened it up and the air intake tube had come loose. Still light on and juddering though. 1 garage said misfire but got to take it to a specialist with better diagnostics kit. how much is this going to cost?.

          ha

I think it's the VTi lol. Air intake pipe had come loose, I put it back and finally got a garage to look at it but there's only a couple with the advanced diagnostic checkers in my area and they are both busy or on hols! . The garage said they think there is a misfire. any ideas on cost?. It is still juddering around 20 - 40mph.

Thanks for your help with this.

As Ben said on the reply to your OP, need to know whether it's the VTi or THP. If you aren't sure check your V5! It really does make a difference on what other members can then advise you.

If it hasn't had new spark plugs at the 40/50k service, then that is a very likely cause of misfires.

To easily solve the engine question, 5-speed gearbox = VTi, 6-speed gearbox = THP.

No, but it really needs it Sucks for motorway driving - at about 4000 rpm all the time.
