  • DS3 Diesel and Particulate fluid issue

Not sure if everyone knows this but i have just found out myself as my car is now on 93000 and its a costly job !

All diesels at around 90000 miles give or take will need to have there Particulate fluid bladder replaced, this is not cheep, around £130 for the PAT fluid plus labour or do it yourself !

If you buy the bladder already filled from main dealer it will cost you around @180 + VAT, you cannot get this from the likes of Eurocarparts, GSF etc etc, they just dont do it, however you can buy the fluid on its own in 1, 2 and 4ltr bottles, 4lts is around
    £130, the DS3 holds around 2-2.5 ltrs

Thing to be aware of is not to damage the empty bladder, any holes and you will need to buy the whole thing £180, not good ! the other thing is if you let it run dry the bag crimples and on the sharp edged the bag cracks meaning its not re-useable, i would suggest that
if your around 80000 miles get it checked, its very easy to get to the bladder, its in a compartment next to the fuel tank, 3 twist screws and one bolt, but be careful as this stuff stains the skin and clothes and dont come out so ware 2 pairs of gloves as its also corrosive

I bought a 4 ltr PAT fluid and tried to re-fill the bladder, unfortunately my bladder had run total dry and cracked so was unable to re-use the bladder and had to buy who whole thing already filled from main dealer.

So if anyone want to save there cash i now have a 4 ltr bottle available, i will send if need be and pack it well, i paid £130 for it but would take £70 inc post, thats £110 saving if doing this yourself.

So ho do you know when you need this stuff ? well everytime you start the car you will get SERVICE show on the main dials the the center display will show PARTICULATE FLUID LOW, car will still drive OK and it wont go into limp mode but it is recomended
that you get it sorted ASAP.

I hope this might be of some help and if anyone wants more details please ask

If it's talking about Adblue, then many Shell stations have it on a pump.

Can't help outside of that, sorry.

That's not the Adblue. This has to be refilled more frequently.

      Should be called Eolys.

There are a few threads on this topic here:

But i have 4ltrs if anyone's interested in saving a few quid !
