Roof wrap should be fine since it's not changing main colour of the car.

Shop around, see if it is just your insurer that penalises wraps or if its the general consensus among most insurance companies. There's no loyalty bonuses with insurance companies, always best practice to shop for the deal and company which suits you best.

Do you have to tell your insurer if it's a full wrap? It's not a permanent colour change

You don't have to tell DVLA, not sure about insurer.

A Google search seems to show that full vehicle wraps, that change the vehicles colour, do need to be reported to the DVLA - A change that came about in 2014.

Useful to know, wasn't aware it had changed.

Makes sense as a full wrap basically means your car is completely different in colour to the DVLA record, in turn these records are used by the police

I did think the previous rules were a bit odd in that regard.

I got mine wrapped by Gatorwraps and I am very satisfied! They have a lot of wraps, with lots of types and colors to choose from. You should also check Gatorprints.

Hmmm only 2 posts ever on the forum, BOTH of which heavily promote Gatorwraps and Gatorprints....

You wouldn't happen to be a paid advertiser would you? Do you have any pictures of your DS3 you "had wrapped" by them? Your post structure sounds exactly like the kind of "real customer quote" that gets displayed on company websites.
