Guy at the dealer says I need to get in touch with Citroen ( who last time I called refused to talk to me about it)
What exactly are you having painted? I had from my bonnet right round to and including my boot lid on one side of my Mini painted for £700 something a few years back!!

They will do until you have exhausted every avenue with the dealership. I'm not sure if you looked at any reviews about the dealership you purchased from, but unfortunately Arnold Clark doesn't have the best reputation
for selling vehicles covered in both the media & internet ... To the point where if i ever see an Arnold Clark sticker in the back window of a car i cringe. My first DS3 i got from a Citroen dealership had come from an Arnold Clark dealership (of which i wasn't aware
of until a few months after purchasing) and it had been serviced by them and it was the worst one i've had out of the 3 so far.

Unfortunately in this case i think your up shit creek without a paddle, pay it and move on or sell it.

I feel your pain mate. I live in Cleator Moor so have to deal with Arnold Clark at Workington. They're a fucking joke mate and will happily fleece you out of your money.

I too have flaked paint and rust under the door mirrors have been trying for 8 month now back and forth with Citroen and AC and still nothing.
I make cars go quicker then take photos of them.

Having had a quick read through on this thread what Citroen would have been looking for on a 4 year old car is that the bodywork inspection has been completed.

If not then any paintwork/rust claim will be rejected, sounds harsh but the manufacture has to draw the line in the sand somewhere.

Anyway my advice would be to go and speak with a couple of different bodyshops, you might find you can get the work done for less even with the contribution in play.

Had a similar incident with my local vw dealership a couple of years ago,
My Passat that had rotten front wings which is a very common problem,

Turned up at my local dealership and they said no chance it's 11 years old and has got 194k on the clock and we've done non of the servicing also they sub the work out as they didn't have there own paint shop either.

So home I went and called vw uk and they said the bloke was talking rubbish
for as long as it hadn't missed a service and was still in the 12 year paint warranty period then there shouldn't be an issue,
They found me a dealership that had its own paint shop (which was 60 mile away) and even arranged an appointment,

I Turned up the bloke came out and took photos and had a quick flick through the service book to make sure non had been missed and sent all the info off,

I was expecting them to say jog on as the previous owner had got someone to do a cheap repair on them before I bought it and that's what the problem was.

But no 3 was later there was a phone call to say when would I like to drop the car off as my new front wings was waiting to be fitted.

If I as you I would either try and find a dealership that has its own paint shop or call Citroen uk for advice,

Unfortunately, this DS3 was not serviced at the intervals recommended by Citroen, thus giving them a reason to decline the claim.
