I ordered my DSport on 25th March. I called today to speak to my salesman and see if there was anything showing on their system. He said he checked yesterday and it wasn't saying anything other than that it was a 'May build' (his words). When he checked today he said that it is now showing a schedule date for arrival at the dealership in the first week or two of May (he wouldn't give me the date).

Is he just blowing smoke up my backside or what? I haven't even had the email saying that it's left the factory but salesman reckons that email could come any time if there is a predicted delivery date. He reckons it should be with them by 19th May but said he isn't making any promises.

I'm obviously not getting my hopes up!

Haha they won't lie to you because the salesmen need to get good reviews from you once you collect it

Mine left the factory last Tuesday the 12th April, ordered 8th March, 1st email confirming order etc on the 10th March, followed closely by the accessory email an hour or so later.

Haven't recieved the email saying its left the factory, although yesterday, the 19th the dealer rang to say it was there and will be ready to collect next Wed, so a total wait of 7 weeks.

You guys do know that the way dealers are scored (and paid bonus money) is through the use of customer emails. You will be sent a questionnaire if you submitted your email to your dealer and based on your response the dealer is paid bonus money, some dealers will put down fake emails in order to control their scores and ultimately their bonus money which is a give away when some customers don't get the email from the factory.

The Dialog system is linked to the factory process system.

I never received any emails, I did get a letter thanking me for my order, then another saying it had left the factory though.

So it's possible my email address has been changed mid order so the questionnaire is completed by persons unknown to me, even though I got two emails initially, one from LJ and the other from the dealer offering me accessories?

So, what you're saying is that some dealers take your email and allow you to receive the initial two emails (thanks for your order, accessories) and then change your email address on the system to falsify their questionnaires? So, if someone doesn't get the other emails (left factory, at dealership) is that a sign something's up?

                    In a nutshell - yes.

What some dealers will do is take YOUR email for their DMS but supply a FAKE email to dialog. What better way to ensure you get the bonus money then by filling in your own report.

But some dealers will also change the email closer to reg date again in order to make sure that you don't give them a bad review.

You caught me sticking potato skins up the exhaust, pouring sawdust into the gearbox, leaving a lemon slice under the seat and using my ebay special service stamps in the book!!

The other trick was to hide a urinal block in the boot to kill dog smells!!!

Sorry to go off thread but that so reminds me of when I sold a car years ago. The mechanic (an ex) knew it was my old car when a customer brought it back because he could smell my perfume which had permeated the car seat fabric!
