  • Query about an order through Rotherham dealer...

    Eve-nin all.

Ive been looking through some old threads, particularly the one from tony30uk about his problems with the Rotherham dealership (not sure if im allowed to say the name? - 'heavens all sure'). Some posts refer to checking the original order form for exact details of what you have asked for, and its raised alarm bells which i hope someone can help with...

I went into the dealership on saturday 26th March to test drive a ds3, and after sleeping on the deal i put a holding deposit down on the phone the next day and confirmed the spec that i wanted. The dealer said he would give me a call on monday once he had searched to see if there were any matching cars in stock somewhere. There werent any so Tuesday he confirmed it would be a factory order, and i asked him to add the city pack to the spec.

On the 5th April i got the accessories email, and on 14th April i got the order confirmation email from Linda Jackson. Query i have is that i have nothing to confirm the exact spec of what i have ordered - no signed order form, in fact the only thing i have to confirm i will be getting a car is 2 generic emails!

Im just a bit worried because im not sure if im supposed to have a copy of a customer order form, and i dont want to end up in a similar situation to a few others where they end up with a 'surprise' when they pick the car up!

Sorry for the essay, and thanks for taking the time to read this. I hope someone can put my mind at rest!

You can request a copy of an order form. I got one when I ordered mine and paid my deposit. It lists the things I asked for.

        HI

Our dealer printed off a copy of our exact order and specifications from the configurator and we both signed it.

I also made sure I knew exactly what we wanted before we went in by taking in a copy from the configurator.

We could have ordered over the phone but felt happier going in otherwise I know I would have felt like you do now.

Hope you get sorted and all ok.

Thanks for your help, I will give them a call tomorrow and see if they can email me a copy.

I'm after a white thp with black roof and black wheels with city pack, but knowing my luck they will have ordered brown and purple polka dot with gold roof and transparent wheels! wouldnt be surprised if you could spec that up on the configurator actually.

anyone had experience with rotherham branch of hair-vans ales-whore?

Just visited the stealership and picked up a copy of my customer order form. Its basically a print out from the online configurator, and an order form showing estimated deliver, customer details, and breakdown of cost for new car order.

The print out from the car configurator is exactly right and says a polar white body, however the order form at the back where it gives a breakdown of the car cost says arctic steel. Another salesperson that i spoke to basically said ignore the order form bit and make sure the configurator bit is accurate, as this is what they use to order the car. I dont fully understand why there would be a difference but i made him confirm that the car would definitely come as the configurator spec.

Can anyone shed any light?? Do i have any reason to worry?

Just out of interest, was there a reason that you didn't use Evans Halshaw in Doncaster? I got mine from there and I have no complaints about them at all.

I Don't Want To Worry You But I'd Be A Bit Cautious Of This...

Maybe BIGFEET Can Shed Some Light ?

Not really - they are both about same distance away from me, but they didnt have a THP to test drive at donny so booked a test drive at rotherham the next day, and ended up buying one!

I was kinda hoping Bigfeet might impart some of his working knowledge on how the ordering is done to be honest! (hint hint) By the way I remember the salesperson also said something like the order form is just to get something loaded into the system, but when they submit the order to the factory (and he had checked my file notes) they use the configurator to ensure its accurate.

Sorry if this doesnt make much sense - it doesnt to me either! problem is, both my salesman and the manager are on holiday today, and it was just a quick phone call i made to double check everything is ok, which i was told it was about 3 times.

Will wait and see what my salesperson says when he is back from hol. Cheers for your replies.

Hi mate, get your sales person to print off a copy of the dc18 order from dialog. This will show the breakdown of the LCDV codes which is what the factory uses to build your car. There is no reason why they shouldn't give it to you and I'll happily check the codes out for you to make sure you are getting what you wanted.

An example of what i mean
