  • 1000 miles in

well thought I would do a little post, just reached my 1000 miles, had the car around 3.5 weeks.

Not one issue yet except that rust/tar spot on the wing.

Im sure its starting to get more noisy, when driving along the seafront today with the window down it sounded like a late early 90's diesel taxi !

Have to keep an ear out and see whats what, it was never this loud before, unless its normal as it wears in?

Only slight niggle so far is the passenger seat, when you lift the handle to bend the seat so you can get in the back, the seat is so stiff that the handle comes off in your hand !

Apart from that, cracking little motor, halved my fuel costs and road tax, less insurance than old motor too.

Just a shame it does not automatically pick up Kelly Brook lol

Compared to my ten month old cdti insignia you would be suprised at just how refined and quiet thehdi units are compared to vauxhalls gruff diesels, on start up and idle it sounds like an 80s transit van.

Oh biggie your Smooooth, although im sure Boo will be smiling when she see's that lol

My passenger seat handle is a bit tough but its only at the beggining, it will loosen up the more it is used.

Oh Biggie you are smooth....What you being all nice for

Our passenger seat handle is really stiff too but like Sim said it'll probably loosen up in time....although since we don't have kids I doubt anyone will every really be in the back of our car
As for the noise...We've done almost 4000 miles in ours had 2 rear shunts and 1 front bump and I still haven't heard anything different...However as for our wheels, well the corrosion is starting to show on the alloys so Biggie is gonna put a claim in to get them replaced.

Enjoy your DS3 and enjoy cruising along the seafront

Approx £754.11 inc vat (retail price) but this is only the frame part no cushion or trim and its only the top half of the frame what your back sits against. Bottom half is £767.00 (retail) again its a bare frame.
