    Whats the prize?

Remember that everybody works off the same sheet so don't dismiss your dealer, just be realist when you talk with them.

Besides you don't want to know what I paid as it will make you all cry!

We loaded ours up to over 19 grand, leather, paint, nav etc. Put all that into an online broker and came to over a grand less. Phoned the local dealer and he matched it. Also try Citroën supermarket they are competitive as they operate on line only.

Prize = shopper of the month award!
ok so dtd is £14238 for a Dsport THP with City Pack and a proper spare tyre - saving £2823.......
i won't dismiss my dealer, but I will be prepared to travel an hour or 2 to give my business to the most competitive dealer! I'm hoping the point of a forum like this is to help get that info!?
go on then, what's your staff discount? 20%?
            TIA!

I doubt many dealers would be prepared to do that price, that the whole margin plus the £1,000 PCP deposit plus more which the dealer has to throw in!!

Besides it's stuff like this which gives the DS3 only a 23% residual..... which is pathetic

Gulp! So much for those M1n1-challenging residuals that everyone was talking about tbis time last year.

What makes it particularly surprising is that there aren't piles of unsold DS3s cluttering up dealer forecourts, and buyers still seem to be waiting (and, more to the point, prepared to wait) 10-12 weeks for their cars.

I'd hoped that the DS3 would go the same way as the Fiat 500, which seems to be holding up well in terms of it's 2nd-hand values (even though it's just a Panda in a frock).

I guess it's as Biggie warned - once the dealers start discounting at these kinds of levels, everything goes south...

yup, probably find that's a London dealer and being a northerner I really don't want to travel south of the watford gap and I'd much rather give the business to fellow northerners so just need to find the dealers in or around North Yorkshire prepared to price match!
                  any dealers reading interested!?

I think mine basic was £14000 (with a list of ~£16k after the price rise) but that included the PCP £100o that they threw in of late. Once I added the leather seats an dashboard it was back up to £15k - drive the deal.

Just another point that I picked up on further up the thread. The DS3 is my wifes car relacing a fiat 500 lounge that we still have; it is absolutley immaculate and only 9800 miles. We cannot get rid of it for love nor money as there are so many of them out there. I have not found one punter yet who is willing to offer even what dealers are offering - which is too low. So, do not believe the hype about fiat 500 residuals because it is now not true.

I have looked back over all of my buying / selling cars over the last ten years and I have lost more on that car than any other because, when we bought it, there were zero discounts available. ho hum, you live and learn.

Very interesting to hear about the Fiat 500 residuals. Sounds like the picture's changed a fair bit since I was looking at them 18 months ago. I remember when they were as rare a sight as the DS3 is, but now they seem to be everywhere. I wonder whether Fiat dealers are discounting them these days?

Having BSM using them in their fleet of school cars can't of helped......plus the fact that they got rid because of complaints from some of the driving test inspectors

There certainly seem to be lots of Cat D 500s for sale! One careful owner, lots of careless drivers!

There are very little discounts on 500's still as there still sought after and masses of people waiting for them still to have the combination they want.
We love to get them in on the Used car pitch as there now just over 3 years old and starting to get brought back in part exchange but they are sold before there physically on site due to demand from people not wanting to buy them new.
we do around 10 new 500 sales a week !

DS3's still seem to be doing well and are very popular with the over 50's at the moment, still selling a few a week of all specs mainly diesel ones.
