after reading the small print on my free 3yr roadside assistance, it said puntures were not covered and i would have to pay £95 to be recovered!!!!!!! its not my fault i dont have a spare tyre, and wasnt even told i didnt have one when i bought it, anyhow i contacted citroen assistance and they really where very unhelpful to say the least, just kept saying i would have to pay to get recovered if i had a blowout, it seems citroen have over looked this eventuality of no spare tyre and i think its wrong............. still disputing it with them but they have gone quiet

She got her car really quick order filled from existing stock I'd think.

Quoted me £75, which is the current price I think.

But that excludes the Jack, wheel brace and all of the other stuff you need to change the tyre.

            Will get mine through John.

We have the 'goo' kit and are happy with it, we just upgraded the Citroen Assistance for £20 to cover us in all events. There is no point in carrying a spare wheel as Boo drives the car far more than I do and she has admitted that she wouldn't know where to start with the wheel or have the confidence or strength to change it anyway.

My thought behind the 'goo' kit is that she can quickly sort it out on the side of the road, with me talking her through it if necessary, and be back on her way quickly - for us it more of the convenience than practicality.

At the end of the day there are 'pros' and 'cons' for both setups and it where people have complained about not having a spare the only thing I can say is that you never checked and assumed there was one in the first place. It is clearly listed in the options online and in the 'touch' brochure as an extra. The responsibility for confirming your required specification does lay with yourselves, but with that said it is nice to see some dealers attempting to offer help for those who asked.

Myself gave a spare wheel kit away for free, from another stock order, when my customer asked nicely if there was anything I could do to help her out after she decided that she wanted the kit after all, by then it was too late to add it to the order.

I'm probably going to regret saying this if I ever get a puncture, but I quite enjoy the extra space that I get from not having the spare hidden away under the boot carpet. I have all sorts of things hidden away in there.

When mine was serviced the other week my compressor had 8mm of tread left.

Hi folks, thought you might be interested to know about a sheet of paper that came with the handbook for my first DS, which states that ' Citroen DS3 drivers benefit from Citroen Expanded Assistance', which means that it includes punctures, lost keys, wrong fuel and other things.

I would suggest that if anyone needs to call Citroen Assistance/AA, you make sure that you tell them that you have a DS3! In fairness to Citroen Assistance, when a bloody great deer strolled into my path at 3AM on the A303 in May last year ( was I the first owner to bend a DS3?), they were very prompt, recovered the car and got me 75 miles home within 3 hours.

However, I am not sure if the 2nd and 3rd year Citroen Assistance that comes with the Elect 3 package is the expanded one, but think it is.

Furthermore, if you do breakdown, do make sure that you call Citroen Assistance and not any other cover you might have, as the AA is responsible for providing alternative transport for the first 48 hours in the event that they cannot fix the car at the roadside, but you do have to ask - they won't volunteer it!

And yes, it's probably time I came clean - I work in a Citroen dealership, so I do have some inside knowledge!

I remember the bits of paper

Citroen stopped that one a couple of months in if I recall right...

Good advice about the making sure you call Citroen Assistance rather than the AA.

You've got me wondering now! I wasn't aware that Citroen had stopped it, but I've put in a request for clarification and will come back with the results.

I aplogise in advance if I've mislead anyone!

Lol! Maybe I'm wrong and you got me wondering too! Page 33 of the brochure does hint at only having 12 months, so I put a request to the Product Manager for DS3. We'll have to compare results!

My thought was it was stopped when Citroen Assured went live?

Okay I have been on the phone with Colin@CUK who has confirmed that DS3 only comes with 12 months Citroen Assistance unless you on Elect 3 Finance with your DS3 then you will have 36 months.

I have pointed out that the Breakdown number is missing from the latest print of the handbook packs as well!

For reference the phone number is 08000 72 72 72.
