My two penneth...... im 24 and its costing me around £1800 with Co-op insurance! I have 2 years no claims but these were built up as a named driver. I started my own policy with Co-op in Jan, and apparently i must do a year with them to allow my no claims to be transeferable to other companies. So basically iam stuck with Co-op at a daft price until Jan next year, when i should have 3 year NCD i can go anywhere with.
With regard to lowering your premium by adding an experience named driver, this is a new one on me and sounds very interesting! Would i be able to ring my insurer and add somebody at this point, or must it be done when setting up the policy?

I'm 22 and I'm only paying £500 for my dstyle hdi90. I've been driving for 5 years and have 3
Years no claims with that named driver thing on direct line. They wanted £1000, went to another company that accepts direct lines named driver no claims. Got some discount for having my dad on it as well as multicar discount as whole family switched at once! Generally think the diesels are much cheaper to insure

It's great sometimes to be older and wrinkly (well 42 actually)! I added my Wife to my policy, revised my job title a little and got my DS3 Racing insured for £270 fully comp protected, it was only £10 a year dearer for me than a 110Hdi

I'm 34 and Wife is 29 and with the DS3 DSport, Alfa Spider and Picasso all on the same policy it's only £600 for the lot. And thats bearing in mind that my job is a high risk category and Boo's job involves leaving the car on a RAF Base!...I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!

I'm now the wrong side of 40+ and my latest insurance is almost 4 times what I paid last year now £900.00. Now that is with a specialist company as the car is now heavily modified. My point is to shop around as I was quoted by some of the online maket brokers brokers nearly 3 times that amount!

I'd be really keen to find a firm that would cover 2 or even 3 vehicles on 1 policy for a single named driver, on the basis that only 1 of them would be in use at any one time. That way, I could afford to keep an old Landie in the shed for winter emergencies too.
