Why not just take out the parcel shelf when the dog's in? Or am I missing the point?

dog has a habit of jumping out of the back when i leave him alone in the car and standing on the horn. Was thinking of getting a parcel shelf, cutting big holes in it and then filling them in with a 50mm mesh or something.
Dont fancy the idea of a proper dog guard.

A dog guard is probably much safer and cheaper than mesh wire...

+1! (In the old car ) ...The dog would have to run along side the DS3 if he wanted to go anywhere
