Just returned from watching a few stage of the Tour de France - managed to get an average of 40.8 mpg over 1500 miles with a roof box, bike rack on the towbar, and aircon running pretty much constantly.
For those of you who haven't travelled over there French rural roads are just fantastic there's next to no traffic and the surfaces are superb (except in some towns).
Saw very few DS3s, even in the Poissy area, but several turned up in the TdF caravan

For cycling aficiandos you can pick out Alberto Contador sporting a couple of sticking plasters after one of his falls - Bradley Wiggins was already out
