Hmm sarcastic post maybe? Lol reminds me of american pie, This one time at band camp...
I'm so good at bartering I paid nothing for my ds3!
In all honesty at 23, with 24k a year as a student I still can't get finance so yes mummy an daddy bailed me out! But Im paying the money back monthly so no harm in that.
I'd love to know how much insurance you are paying at 17 on your car!

Basically it's more monetary than safety, I won't have to fork out as much each month in petrol or road tax - a 2.0 litre Mondeo really drinks when your doing 40 miles a day! That and the 260 road tax!! Newer car hopefully won't have any issues in the 3 years I intend owning it, and no road tax an 70ish mpg its a no brainer!
Oh and the insurance is 1k less a yeardespite the ds3 being slightly faster!

[QUOTE=AJ07;62027]My first car was a Mini Clubman similar to this one. Remember battery was in the boot next to the spare tyre and sometimes had to remove the distributor cap and leads and put them in a warm oven to get the car started during the winter until I discovered WD40.

My first- Mark 1 Escort 1100, £130 knocked down from £250 (Found a big hole) Sprayed it, sorted wheels, sorted clutch, new battery, loadsa stuff
Wrote it off after 8 weeks rushing to work straight into back of a MINI- her fault!
Pulled out in front of me 6.30 in the morning when I was doing 60mph! Braked down to 25mph ish, went side on into the back of her - DOH!
