        Oh, I didn't say I disagreed.

It's personal preference. I can understand why someone would want to wait to be part of the "elite" however it's only aesthetically pleasing for a couple of weeks. If that..

I was in a similar dilema, Been told late August for delivery was tempted to tell them to wait but I go on holiday in september so would have to wait till then, but I want it now, don't even care if I get it the day before I go, Not really bothered about the plate.

At the end of the day it's just a bit of plastic thats a foot long, I would take it now and start enjoying it and if anyone tells you that it effect value tell them its rubbish!

I remember a customer who waited two months before taking delivery because he wanted an '11' plate on his car as the car had arrived on site in late January. Took delivery in March and straight away popped on a private number!!

                Another reason:
You can be driving around in (somewhat) nice summer weather, rather than September weather

                    Im waiting!

My main reason is residual value, when i was trying to sell my Clio 200 to trade last month, i reaslised that it could be registered from 1st Septemeber 2010 upto 28th February 2011, yet it'd still be worth the same value. Mine was a November 27th 2010 reg, but was just valued as a 60 plate.

So, if i get my DS on 31st August, it'll be worth quite abit less come resale than a DS registered 1 day later, on Sept 1st!

                    Hey, every little counts!!

I too will be waiting for a 61 plate, I reckon it's a no brainer, it will be cool to be driving your new plate on the 1st.

Even if mine had been a 61 Reg it would still have had CL11 VEP on it, and so will every car I have in the future...

However, a more serious answer, if you intend buying it off the lease company then it will be worth a bit more as a future trade to you as a 61 rather than an 11, but probably only a few hundred quid...

I'd add though, if you've the personality to prefer a 61 reg, then wait, as you don't want to get to September then regret having an 11 when you could have had a 61....

Do what you want to do, don't worry whatever anyone else thinks and certainly least of all the lease company, they just want to make money as soon as possible!

                        Regards,
                        Clive.

Do you know how much difference the plate change actually makes?

Very little, the split from 10 to 60 was only £300.
