  • Tyres?

I've got the 17" bellones so I have a set of bridgestone potenza re50a
Not that they need to be replaced anytime soon but I'm doing a lot of miles and am wondering how much I'm going to need to save for a front set. Don't wanna mess around with any other brand, these are already the best tyres I have ever used and using cheap chinese ones on my peugeot I noticed the understeer and fuel economy straight away. Have lots of 10% off deals on a few Tyre places from a work deal and Voucher cloud app on my phone which I'l try and use when the time comes

How far have people managed before needing a new set?
And what prices have you had to pay?

Assuming yours are 205/45 17 88V (excuse the memory for lots of useless things, I just remember reading the size when I picked it up in July!) - which is what is on my DSport Plus then I've not seen them at £90....
To my surprise this size seems more expensive than 225/45 17 91Y which is what was on my previous car - and they were bigger.

There's lot of tyre places online though, worth a search.

Iv done nearly 18k in my DSport and my tyres will need replacing before i get to 20k i think, from what iv seen on tyre websites it'l be nearly £500 for a full set fitted, not seen them at £90 anywhere or id probably have bought them already!, iv heard good things in a few mags about conti sport contact tyres so might try those when the time comes.

18k? Front or back tyres or both? The conties my parents have on their eos. They seem alright.
I'm fast aproaching 7k in 5 months, don't earn enough to afford that at 18k lol. Do you think there's much difference in tyre wear on motorway miles than around town?

so turned on my computer and did a search and find results straight away! what is with google on mobile devices, it cant find anything useful.

kwik fit want £200! think il be using all the discounts i can manage to get these replaced.

with some simple maths ive worked out il need some when the car turns 1. need to cut down on the driving. cant afford this lol guess il be saving for that day, somehow dont think il be cutting down on too much driving. do miss the £40 a corner on the cheap old pug 107 though.

i know zack has some winter alloys from the stock ds3, does anyone else have any winter wheel plans? this may be an option for myself as i dont fancy the bellones in this snow we seem to get each year and if its got rubber itl save on the expensive stuff.

I'm going to need 2 on the front soon (18k+ miles) but I'm not inclined to replace them with another pair of Potenzas - I find that they squirm badly under acceleration, and they're also quite noisy. May well go with the Sport Contacts, which have been well reviewed, or splash out on some Michelins, which are more expensive but last for ever, and are more predictable.

I got 4 winter tyres (2 x Bridgestone Blizzacks and 2 x Pirelli Snowstorms) almost new for £100 fitted! Real bargain.

I've managed to find slightly worn but fully safety tested tyres before for my former Leon FR for £40 fitted each and they were superb. I can't believe the tyres on the DS3, despite being smaller are more expensive at list than my Leon tyres were! Maybe 204/45 17s are considered 'hot hatch' material and so are premium priced!

Ah well I've only done 900 miles so they are a way off yet and I don't always keep my cars long enough to go through a set of tyres. :-)

I find the Potenzas on my DS3R excellent for grip in the dry, can't say I've really caned it in the wet though.

                              They are bloody noisy though!

My other half has just bought an Abarth 500 fitted with Pirelli P Zero Nero 205/45 ZR17's not sure what they are like, not had a chance to really 'drive' it yet!
