  • 90 b.h.p. Drum or Disk?

    My fellow DS owners

Collected my 90b.h.p. on Friday and noticed it had disk brakes on the rear along with the chrome door strips (these are not standard on my model). Chuffed with both extras, however, I believe that my model should have drum brakes on rear, seem to recall looking at a 90b.h.p Orla Keily with drums.

Why would this happen? Seems a bit odd not to get what I expected!

you kind of need disc's tbh its hard enough as it is trying to stop it when it gets going

plus i also had chrome side strips which weren't meant to be there

Side chrome was added to the range as part of the Model Year 15 update, I was unaware that the cars are now fitted with disc brakes but thats most likely to do with the Stop/Start systems that are on the new DStyle models.

Rear discs are fitted to all Dsytles with the eHDI engine from May build onwards

          Mine has them.

Just to join in the fun, my DStyle+ has discs all round and chrome baguettes too.

Hardly think it would be cost effective calipers, disks, brake lines, hubs, bearings, attaching hardwear, maybe the brake mater cylinder, whatever the cost its expensive!

Even with discs all round mine will struggle to stop now and again. Admittitely that was on a track and I was going a bit fast for the corner!
