  • No luck..

Well just got my car back after new timing chain fitted and driving to work this morning some young idiot in a badly pimped up banger decided to try cut across me to get onto a motorway slip road and crash into drivers side of my car. A few dents n scrapes and certainly need a new wheel.
My question is do you have to use the repair centre the insurance company advises or can you, say use a citreon main dealer. Any info would be grateful.

Thats going to depend on your insurance company. Some will allow you to go elsewhere but you may be liable to any extra cost involved, Insurance companies screw bodyshops to the wall for repair work and they are determined to make sure that they pay as little as possible which is why then insist you go to certain places as they have negotiated their parts and labor rates. If you go to one of your choosing it's likely the Insurance company does not have an agreement with that shop over costs.

What to find out is if your Insurance company lists a Citroen Garage as an authorised repairer which you can use.

If your insurer insists on a garage, make sure they're using parts that are up to Citroen's standard, otherwise Citroen could invalidate your warranty..

      Right Biggy?

Right enough X6411, although most Insurance companies will use genuine parts anyway.

Found out that Citroen have a scheme called 'Citeroen assist', basically they deal with guys insurance company, as long as he admits 100% liability then they will take up the claim, which he has done. Had car repaired at main dealer, courtesy car included. Might be worth looking out for if anyone is unlucky for someone to crash into your DS3.
