  • Estimated Arrival Time?

I ordered a Citroen DS3 Dsport HDI 110 on 13th July 2011. From what I've read the estimated delivery time is around 10 weeks? I also heard the factory is shut August so builds would not until 1st September anyway?

Should I be regularly calling my dealer for updates, whenever I do call they just tell me there is nothing on the system at the moment. Are there any specific questions I should be asking?

    Many thanks.

I think diesels differ to petrol in build time.

I was in regular contact with my dealer, and he kept me updated me as and when he knew anything. Ok, so a lot of the time we emailed about how drunk we got at the weekend, so I built quite a rapport with him, and that helped with me pestering him about where my car was! The best day was when he sent me MMS of my car fresh off the lorry saying 'Look whats just arrived'

I didn't get an email and my letter saying it had left the factory was dated after I had spoken to my dealer and he had told me it was on its way. I've got a petrol and ordered end of March/start of April and it was expected August, so the text msg of my car in July was a very nice suprise.

Your dealer should have given you an estimated date, looking at the supply bulletins I would say that you might see your DS3 till late September if your lucky, but it will be more likely an October exit/delivery.

Many thanks, read it and it gave me a good overview as to the procedure at Citroen

          Thanks for the reply.

I emailed the dealer this morning and they replied with the following:

"I have just had a look at the system to check for any updates. Unfortunately there has been no change.

The vehicle waits for a production date, it will then have an estimated completion date, they will then tell us when it is out of the factory. At this point the vehicle is approximately 10-14 days away from us. We then get told when it has arrived in the UK and finally a date of when the transportation company will be delivering to us."

I then asked them whether it was normal after 4 weeks for the system to show no change, and they replied with:

"It can be sometimes, they have had a massive increase in DS3 sales over the last 2 months, I will get admin to contact supply and distribution to see if there are any hold ups and will let you know what information I have."

I have no dates at all at the moment from the dealer, but my feeling is the same as yours, I'm expecting October now, as I've already sold my car it's going to be a long wait, and expensive hiring a car for this period!

Just buy a £100 ebay special - as long as it's taxed and MOT'ed it will do and cheaper than hiring a car!

At the moment I've car hire until 25th August, after that what you say is a very good idea, my only concern is whatever I buy has to be reliable - will it be if it's this cheap. Definitely food for thought though - Cheapest car rental I can find per month is around £370 so if car was being delivered October that's a lot of money compared to buying as you've suggested.

Buy a £300 car with tax and MOT until at least the end of the month ur new ones coming, and then resell it, with a good chance of braking even or even gaining a few pounds

Ive done this twice now, currently driving a £300 Honda Civic which is brilliant actually until my DS turns up hopefully Sept 1st! I found it on Gumtree, as eBay prices are getting silly. By the side of the road is even better

Let me know if your car turns up September 1st, if you're near enough perhaps I could buy the Honda from you if I haven't sorted myself something since then

Dealer has just emailed me with the following:

"I have just heard back from supply and distribution. They have said there have been no updates as the factory is now shut for August. It is scheduled for completion in September, but they cannot confirm if it will be Begining or end of the month. I will however keep an eye on it and let you know any changes."

                      I'm miles away in Bournemouth

The good news is my Dad has offered me his car from when my car hire runs out until 20th September, so I don't have to worry about a car until then, and by that time I should have a much clearer idea on delivery date etc

You might not need to wait that long, Mine was ordered basically on July 1st, had to be built, and I got phonecall today saying mine is at my local dealer waiting to be collected by me. But im leaving it there till september 5th so I can have the new plates.

Thanks for the info, based on this it sounds like mine could be end of September early October for delivery time.
