  • Moisture in the headlights

Washed the car yesterday. Lifted the bonnet to check oil etc discovered the rubber seal for the n/s headlight unit was partially off and some wash water had got in. I'm guessing that the seal was loose when the car was purchased.

Sure enough, last night the headlight was misted up. This worries me as I was charged £200 for a replacement headlight on my C3 and I don't suppose the DS3 headlight unit is going to be particularly cheap.

How best to dry the unit out? I've purchased some silica gel packs and put one in the headlight unit (with the seal replaced) and hope that this removes the moisture. If this doesn't work does anyone have any other way of removing the moisture - using a hair dryer perhaps.

Any suggestions gratefully received. I can't see this being a warranty issue as they could always argue I removed the seal.

Remove back cover and use a hairdryer works wonders not to hot mind , or ask nicely at a garage to use there air line that will blow out moisture..

Don't worry too much, just try and attach a extension hose from a vacuum onto the end of hairdryer (on warm setting) and direct the hose into the headlight, then leave the rubber cap off for a while to let air circulate, and give a chance for the warm air dissipate.

I would suggest that you speak with your dealer regarding this, my guess would that this may possibly be covered as part of the warranty and therefore could have the light unit replaced.
