  • Smeary wipers

I've been using the GuardX Glassguard on my glass. Apart from being a glue-sniffer's delight it produces the most amazing beading on the screen during rain; water just does not want to stick to the windscreen. forward motion just send the raindrops scuttling upwards like a horde of insects.

There is a problem with this, however. Operating the wipers produces a smeary mess, which lasts for a couple of seconds before clearing.

Should I remove the glass guard (with what? Fairy Liquid?) so that the rain actually wets the windscreen? Or is there something else what I should be using on the glass?

Try running a little bit of Glass cleaner over the blades themselves, it helps to clear any grease caught on the blades.

Use Windolene, it cleans, and when it rains, it beads and stays clean. Simples
