  • New THP 155?

    Hello everyone!

I've been lurking on here for a couple of weeks to help me make up my mind to buy a DS3 or not. Thanks for all the info.

I'm about to place my order via drivethedeal for a DSport THP 150 and a few extras. Got a quote from them which I took to my local dealership, but they wouldn't go anywhere near it. All the would do is free 3 year service and £200 off list price. Shame, because I'd prefer to use them but can justify all that extra cash.

Anyway I've got a quick question before I place the order.....

When I was in the dealership the salesman mentioned that the THP was being upped from 150bhp to 155. Had a quick look on the net and here, but couldn't find much about it. However it's now on the French Citroen configurator. It seems like co2 has gone down to 139 too (lower tax band). Does anyone know if and when these will be offered over here?

There has always been a difference in quoted bhp between the UK models and the continental ones.
It doesn't mean that we have less powerful engines, just Citroen being conservative with the figures.
For the record my HDi90 was delivering over 92 bhp when it was put on a rolling road.....the same as they quote for the French cars, worth it out for yourself.
I think that if asked any THP owner who has had their car on a rolling road (before any mods) you will find that they were putting out around the 155bhp figure that your looking at.
As for the co2 figures, there was a general drop pretty much across the board recently, so the HDi90 which was @ 107 is now down to 98, all part of their general drive to get better emission figures.

The THP Prince engine in the DS3 DSport has always been 115kw in power (156bhp) since it was introduced whatever was printed in the brochures. See http://www.citroen.co.uk/home/#/new-...s3/performance

Well that makes sence. Must have been salesman talk to try to get me to buy through them.
It was just when I saw this I thought he might have been onto some thing. Seemed like two different THP engines for sale in France.

Top speed goes form 133mph to 130mph and CO2 from 155g to 139g and milage is slightly better as Clive states. HP is unchanged at 156.

I wouldn't worry about 5bhp - you can probably gain that by having a $hit before you drive

THP 155cv has a revised engine control module offering reduced emissions, with no mechanical differences between earlier THP units used in DS3.
