Who in the world of Citroen thought it'd be a good idea to not light up any of the heater controls (apart from the climate screen) unless the heater's on?

So, pitch black, and you find yourself fumbling around the dash, in the end i just press anything to get them to just light up so i can see what im doing!

Must say I have never had this problem as I never turn the A/C off.

My dealer suggested I always left it on but I was always told that Aircon badly impacted on fuel consumption and performance . Is this not true anymore .

the amount of fuel used while having a/c on is minimal, infact barely noticeable. the a/c compressor is switched on and off automatically to keep your car at a set temp hence climate control.because the compressor is not constantly running it doesnt use large amounts of fuel. also the way that the clutch in the pulley on the compressor works it also doesnt take as much engine power away either

                    gripes...

                    My gripe...

I have a/c, Bluetooth, cruise control, auto lights and wipers...... but where us the cup holder???

I agree so many times gone to put heating on, can't see controls!

By the way guys and girls, PLEASE DO NOT leave your a/c on. Don't worry about fuel consumption or emissions, you got much mire to lose. Air con gas expands below 4'C it can burst pipes if you use it at a low temp. Nothing wrong with using heaters without a/c in the winter. I will check owners manual, I know Ford warn about this, will post page number if its in ds3 handbook

I've never seen a broken a/c pipe in my 7 years as a mechanic. If you have ever had ac gas on you you would realise its much colder than 4 degrees anyway

Had a quick look at the manual and as far as I can see there is no mention of not running the A/C at low outside temperatures. Must admit I have never heard of this before, I recommend the use of A/C during winter months as it aid the de-misting of the cabin air and acts as a dehumidifier.

In regards to the cup holder, would you not have bought the car with that knowledge??

Running it periodically in the winter also helps keep the internal seals in the compressor lubed, I like my moving parts to stay moving Also just because it is on does not mean its running all the time. My old cars you could really feel the compressor kick on as it draged down the engine, these new cars you don't even know if its on or not, hardly draw any power from the engine. Very efficient.

I use my AC about 3 times a year....

and I was gutted when I realised there was only 1 cup holder... which doesn't have a back in it which doesn't help on quick get a ways! xD

In my last car (a C3) it had climate control and the A/C turned itself off when the temp dropped below about 1 C.
