  • Boot Liner

    Hey all,

I have been looking for a long time for a boot liner for my DS3 as I don't want the Dog messing it up and so far haven't had much luck. A feew months ago I emailed www.hatchbag.co.uk to see if they were planning to make one and they replied that they weren't due to lack of demand but would keep my email address on record and let me know if the did.

Yesterday I received this email from them:

    ***********************************************
    FREE STANDARD HATCHBAG BOOT LINER

You have previously enquired about a Boot Liner that we do not currently list on our website.

We have just added a new 3D Scanning Unit to our factory so that we can speed up the patterning process, whilst in the past we have accessed vehicles at local dealerships we now need to get the vehicles on-site in Wallasey.

In return for patterning we will supply a FREE Standard Boot Liner to the vehicle owner – we will also fit and test the liner. This will involve about 2 hours for scanning on the first visit and then a further 2 hours once we have manufactured the test liner, the liner will be fitted and photographed.

Obviously distance is a potential problem for many customers – However – in that past we have had a number of “repeat” customer travel up to 400 miles to get their vehicle patterned.

    MODELs THAT WE NEED URGENTLY

    AUDI A5 Sportback
    Citroen DS3
    Ford Focus HATCH
    Kia C’eed Hatch
    Kia Sportage
    Mazda 6 Hatch
    Mini Countryman
    Renault Scenic
    Skoda Superb Estate
    Skoda Roomster
    Toyota Verso

We will contact you as soon as we have patterned your model vehicle – UNLESS – you are able to offer yours – in which case please contact me by return email or Call me Direct on 0151 346 8751.

    Regards

    *****************************************

I was all for driving up there and letting them use my car, but Wallasey is in the Wirral over Liverpool way and would actually cost me more in petrol to do the two trips at current petrol prices than the price of a Standard boot liner. Therefore I thought I would post it here in case there is anyone closer who might be interested and want a free liner for 4 hours of their time.

    Cheers
    Andy

It's not a full boot liner tho Biggie, it's only a tray. It doesnt cover the back and sides as well.

At least not the last time I looked, so will be over the moon if it's changed since then and they do?

Ah, no good then. Last thing I need is my big slobbering dog leaning on the backs or sides after a muddy wet hike in the hills!

The best company for that is Boot-Buddy but they don't do the DS3 at the moment.

                Only one thing for it................

Believe me I really have thought of it!! Even thought of a doggy sleeping bag I could sort of zip her in to, but figured she'd topple over when I zoom round corners.

I liked the look of the boot buddy one too, hatchbag is similar, don't really care which, I just want to protect the car!

They've got these on Amazon for £27 odd - but it's just a tray, so no good for protecting the sides.

                      http://www.amazon.co.uk/ANTISLIP-BOO...615947&sr=8-29

I'd be keen on a bigger one myself to protect the seat back, sides etc from my folding mountain bike when its muddy.

Lobber, when I get my DS3 next month, I'll head over to the wrirral. Mrs parent's live that way, so constantly going back n forth. Unless someone else doesn't go first.

                            Morning all,

I contacted Ralph Jackson, today. He's contacting me next week to arrange a scan. He reckons that it'll be about 3/4 weeks before they can get me in for the scan, then about another 2 weeks before the liner is produced. So expect a DS3 boot liner to be available early/mid december! He reckons RRP will be about £69.99

                            Thanks Lobber for posting this!
