Hv you been back to the dealer you bought it from?, they will be able to sell it on with balance of warranty etc at a premium price and will Im sure give a you a value, wont cost you anything and they may hv someone looking for one.
This is why buying from an internet site can save you a bit from your wallet come sale time!
Now, if you bought it direct from the dealer and paid over the odds for the "personal touch" and "getting to know them" over a coffee, then lets see if they buy it back from you for a reasonable price? Or will they fleece you by offering a crap price and then make 2k by selling it on? Webuyanycar are s*ite in my opinion. They are owned by carcraft the car selling site, which is populated by Arthur Daley type old school salesman who try to scare you into buying a car and wanting you to buy it on a weekly scheme so you pay thousands over the top for it! I went in there about 8 months ago and when i went to leave the saleman came running out of showroom shouting "where are you going" -Appauling!

only thing with selling a car like that private is the trust that people put into dealers over private. The whole security thing of buying of a business rather than an individual. very silly i know but people do think that way.
I bet this thread will get closed rather sharpish - but what would be the best way to sell a DS3?
I've got a 6 month old one with 2K on the clock that needs moving...
Ignoring all the above comments your best bet for a fast sell is to a Citroen trader, you won't get 'book' price as the trader will want a cut before passing the car back on. I would guess that you will be looking at a least a grand behind. You will get the fast sell your after, webuyanycar.com is example of a trader but if you speak with your dealer they may put you in touch with one of their contacts.
Failing that you have the traditional route of putting your car up on the many selling portals such as ebay, autotrader, etc. The issue here is being drowned with all the other ads, you are going to need to price the car to sell but not too cheap but people are suspicious of your ad and wonder as too the low price. Word of advice - be honest in your need to sell the car, try to avoid the 'baby forces sell' or 'moving abroad' as these put people off, unless of course this is the case then back it up.
From the outset you are at a certain disadvantage as the network tends to avoid the petrol version in favour of the diesel and again the colour is against you as it limits the buyer. But that said fingers crossed for you and if you need it I can pass on some numbers which might help.
...I should never have doubted the Lord of Bacon!!
When I sold my last car I got a trade in price (i.e. 'directly' against my current DS3 at my chosen Citroen dealer). Given I went through an internet broker to the main dealer it was a very reasonable offer to be fair.
However, and this may or may not apply to you, being a mad detailer, I had kept it in tip top notch. So I looked online at the same model being sold by main dealers (wasn't a Citroen). So I then started calling them offering url links to pictures of my car. The same afternoon I had three offers for it - making about a 5% difference (nice!). On the day I got my DS3 I drove my old car to the dealer who wanted it, they dropped me at the train station and I went to the Citroen dealer to collect the DS3. Only slight disadvantage the main dealer took a week to settle up with me! (they did get the joke when I asked if I could drive off in a nice new car from them and I'd send the money through sometime next week!)...The dealer who bought mine actually said he had no 'prep' charges! (They sold it within a couple of days).
So, if you keep your DS3 in tip top condition (appearance wise, no marks, etc, I mean), or even if you don't, you could consider that 'phone around' approach. Regards,
Clive.

Have to say I appreciate all the positive comments that have been left. Many thanks.
I have contacted a few dealers, and I am looking at about £11K from most of them.
I was incorrect with my figures, we bought the car for £13,500 in April, so I've readjusted my expectations a bit.
One dealer even said that they would look to retail it for £12,500 and thus would offer £11K
So 1.5K for what? Feels a bit pants.
On a similar note, I bought a car for £13495 this year, and had to sell it on a few months afterwards - it's now up for sale at a dealer 200 miles away for £14,495! That was after I drove it for 3 months and put 3K on it's clock...
Because remember that if the dealer takes the car off your hands they still have to find a buyer for that car and make some sort of profit...Everyday the car sits on the forecourt it will be losing them money.
Dealers are just like everyone else...guys and girls trying to do their job and earn some money.
