drum brakes????

Would it surprise you to learn that Drum brakes cost more to produce than disc one?

It was a comment made to me a few years ago by a seasoned CT at my previous garage when I was asking about the Pros & Cons of the two systems.

I had a quick look at some part costings as your comment made me curious!

Rear Caliper on DS3 costs around £104 where the Hub and Drum works out at about £128, but the Disc + Pads come in at £172 while the brake kit for drums is £110.

My 90Hdi from 2010 has drums in the back. No probs at all. It does the job so far.

You're not comparing like with like there. Compare the price of a rear wheel cylinder for a drum brake with the price of a caliper!

Citroen don't seem to offer those on their own, you have to buy the brake kit.
