Following on from my posting about my little mishap http://ds3club.co.uk/showthread.php?...-little-mishap you may like to hear on the progress and see some of te images of my stripped DS3.
After 3 weeks the insurance company has agreed that the car can be repaired rather than being written off. Went up to see my DS3 today and took some pictures of the car stripped ready to be rebuilt.
For those interested the parts to be replaced cover two sides of A4 and will cost £3000 plus VAT. The main parts to mention a few are
Bonnet
2 wings
headlights
Front bumper
Front grill
Air con condenser
Radiator
Alternator
Intercooler
The most expensive is the Alternator £475.32 +vat and the cheapest is the door foils at £3.00 +vat. The front Citroen badge alone is £80.97+vat
The paint costs will be £540.58 +vat
Total labor time to paint and rebuild is 36.5 hours at a cost of £1065 +vat
Total repair bill is around £5494.63 +vat so I think i have earned back my insurance premium for the this year. Its certainly and expensive way to get the few stone chips I had repaired :-)
