Is there a massive difference in the engine from the Mini Cooper S?? Because from what i've heard thats a pretty reliable car, i can't understand why the THP has such a bad name.

There was an earlier post on here somewhere suggesting that Citroen went for an inferior timing chain/tensioner - although that doesn't explain the other THP problems.

Disagree, i drove one, loved it, and would have had one but was over my budget as no discounts. I suppose they are aimed at a similar audience a1/mini/ds3 but I found that theyall are great cars but in very different ways. Depends what you are looking for? Ialso noticed the a1 won what car's supermini of the year 2012 - bit early lol The DS3 was my second choice - cheaper plus internet discount so bought that! but i do love it tho!

Have to agree with you, the 5 door seems more balanced in appearance somehow. Not a fan of the 3 door version.
