    Hi anybody know if there is a problem with temperature sensor, mine came on after a few miles of driving & temp dial in the red but car still cold definitely not overheating, i have a 63 dstyle +,

    Hi Cat,

    Temperature sensor is a known fault with these cars, check with your local Citroen dealer if there is an active recall on your car - many were recalled and if yours is on the list you'll get a free check and if the part number matches the recalled part you'll get a free fix too. If not, then they may be willing to do some sort of goodwill gesture, but at that point get quotes from Citroen and your favoured independent garage as Citroen's labour costs are very high and depending on how much goodwill they offer, the other may be cheaper.

    Had mine recently done outside of warranty for £340, so it's not cheap - they have to use modified parts and a new thermostat housing, modified wiring loom, and new model temperature sensor. That was done by an independent too. The exact same parts installed by Citroen was over £100 more expensive.
