    Hi - I'm new here, so treat me gently!

    I've searched the site but with no luck so far...

    My wife has a late 2013 ds3 which she has owned from new - I noticed a few weeks ago a few rust bubbles clearly coming from the inside right under the driver's door mirror!

    It was due in for a service and MOT today so asked the local dealer to take a look.

    Given my experience of main dealers over the last 30 years I was a little surprised when my wife was told 'it's a design fault and Citroen won't pay'.

    This was on top of the fact that despite getting the car booked in at 8am, my wife received a call at 3.30pm to be told that the service had not been carried out due to too many cars being booked in.

    Clearly a grumpy e mail is now on it's way stating if they can send us the bulletin from Citroen informing them of the design fault and how suddenly they can ignore their own 12 year anti-perforation warranty.

    Has anyone else had this issue or can a link be posted to any other threads of a similar nature please?

    I'm pretty sure they can't give you an answer on the day, they should have taken photos and had them sent off for warranty approval.

    Does the car have full service history? I think one of the disclaimers on the paint warranty is that it has to be checked every so often (I can't remember the exact details).

    It does sound like they're trying to fob you off though IMO.

      Yeah the paint warranty relies on service history as per the handbook, plus a Citroen paint inspection every 3-4 years or something (full details in the handbook under the warranty info).

        I'm not sure if the search function is fully working on the new forum software - there have definitely been other posts about rust around the mirrors.

          Thanks Guys - yes it's been back to Citroen every year - I've even quoted the anti-perferation warranty in my e mail.

          I'll keep you posted..

            Good news - my Mrs received a sheepish phone call from the 'new' service manager inviting her to bring the car along for an inspection and photos to be taken of the door.

            It's now booked in for the work to be undertaken - first bodywork inspection takes place 4 years after first registration - there is a page in the service book for this.
