Took car in for service and mot this morning where I was told they have some work to do on my car, apparently the ecu software has an update and this is for all Citroens but also your turbo electric coolant pump may need replacing, needless to say I declined as this would clear the map I have.
What I don't like is that Citroen garages have been told they DO NOT have to inform the customer before doing this work so please be aware.
    Any questions please ask

Is there a data log you can access re ECU updates? I know when I took WTF in for a fault they just said they 'updated the ECU' which they didn't do for the fix as it was a temp sensor fault.

Seems they can apply the update without asking you, or telling you, or even doing it for the right reason?

I know that with Audi, my wife has to tell them every time her A1 Diesel is serviced that she doesn't want the 'emissions fix' applied. We also have a laminated card next to the port to say that she doesn't consent to any ECU or software update.

I think the dealers don't have to tell you unless you specifically ask, you could try asking for a flag on the online record for the car, something along the lines of 'no ecu updates/flashes to be applied to this car without the owners express consent'......

I found out because the guy at the garage printed the internal memo for me but as far as I know there is no way of checking if the work has actually been done and as far as them updating the ecu without your knowledge is a joke imo.
