  • Can you hear me ....don't think they can

    Hi again,

Before I start a Merry Christmas to one and all.

So SWMBO has had the DS3 for a few weeks now; all good good until last week.

First thing to go a bit funny is the screen washer. Just has a search and need to check the pump fuse - there was a cold snap wasn't there.

Second fault is the phone Bluetooth - she can hear incoming calls, but caller can't hear her answer. Been all through the menus and can't find anything that would explain it - there is a menu setting for switching off the microphone for privacy, but that isn't activated. So could be a faulty microphone. Any known faults? - does it us a separate fuse?

    Thanks

    George

Should of asked - if a microphone failure is that covered under the warranty (reason for asking is that on my Insignia it wouldn't be covered)

Does the car actually have a mic or does it use the phone as the mic? Not had any experience with the DS3's system, I only have experienced it in a Hyundai i40 (which does have a mic)

First thing to do before you tear the car apart, check the phone settings make sure it's set to accept audio from the car. If it's paired as Bluetooth ear phones rather than a hands-free device might cause an issue.

          Thanks for both replies.

I'm told that when we first got the car it was working correctly and it just stopped letting the reply br transmitted

I thought I would leave the thread alone until I got it sorted out. As you can tell from my the date of my last post it's taken a while. Straight after my last post it went into bristol Street motors. Told it was a duff microphone and to come back in a week for a new one.

The replacement mic did'nt sort it. It must be a broken wire. Come back in a couple of weeks and we'll Nedd it for two days... the dash has to come off.

not a broken wire! must be the Bluetooth module, it took weeks to get a replacement so told when it went in only need it for a day. Went to pick it up .....still in bits.....the mechanic thought he had two days.

well it's back and everything working as it should.....except they lost the fuse tweezers.....just glad to get away from the place

What a drama!! So it was the Bluetooth module? I take it all this was done under warranty? Glad it's finally working though.

Yes under warranty, if I was paying the cost would be staggering
