Reversing into a wood post - repair advice required.

Hello,

Fresh off the school run 20 mins ago Ive just reversed into a wooden poll! Furious. Its scratched the right side bumper and cracked the light fitting.

I'm in the north east of the UK of any suggestions of places to get it done.

Feel free to laugh away at the misery, it might cheer me up!

Have you tried cleaning it up and seeing what it's like then? How bad is the crack? From what I understand the 3d rear lights are about £300 (I think).

Might take a couple of products to clean it up, tree sap remover (?) and a fine compound (scratch remover).

Going to be a cost versus results you want.

Owwwwwwwww!!! You can make it look better with some Super Resin Polish from Auto Glym. It's no fix, but just means when you see it, it makes you feel less sad until it's sorted! You might also be surprised at how will it comes up.

I've ordered some Super Resin Polish as a short-term fix. If the light wasn't cracked I would be fine with a new bumper as seen loads on breaking.

Ouch!!! Like WTF says, spend a bit of time with the super resin polish and hopefully you can get most of it out. If you wanted it doing professionally, we have an awesome company that come out to you and sort it out on your drive. I have used them in the past and they are excellent. They are called Revive, but I think they may only be locally based in the North West .

Also check eBay for a rear cluster to replace your cracked one. I've seen new ones for as little as 150 quid.

I think I might be saved. Thanks to WTF for the recommendation as I think I'm all good!!! Just the light to worry about. Its left a slight mark but hopefully wear and wear when it goes back in august!!!! Polished to bits shall we say!!

I think I've found the light I need. As mine is facelift October 2015 they are hard to find.

I hope they are easy to fit!

That is correct and they are super easy to fit. Open up the boot, take the vent panel out, unclip the plug, unscrew the screw then push the clips and pull the whole light out. Reverse process for new light.

Surprised you're finding them hard to find, as those lights have been around since 2013. They didn't change with the facelift.

The 2016 facelift models definitely have the DS logo in the lights, I just got BeefMasta to check mine (mine is a 66 plate)

As said I'm pretty sure the 3D rear lights haven't changed since they were introduced.
