DS3 SatNav - Satellites found 0 .... ?

Hi Everyone, 1st post, be gentle!

Had the car for about 3 months, really pleased with it but...
The SatNav doesn't work more than it works and always with the 'Satellites Found 0' on the display.

Its a 62 plate 1.6 Airdream with built in SatNav (Option pack I believe) eMyWay system.

As far as I can see I have two options.
1. Download the latest software @ £69.00
2. Get a main dealer diagnostic @ £95.00

I'll do whatever it takes as it is a pain, I just don't want to throw money at it and it's no different.

Has anyone have this problem? and ideas would be very welcome.

I'm not familiar with the system but being as old as it is, it probably is due an update if it's never had one before. Does everything else work ok on the infotainment e.g. radio etc.? Also you're not starting it up in the middle of nowhere are you? My Garmin satnav never gets signal in my road as the buildings are too enclosed, but is fine everywhere else.

Sounds more like a loose cable if it’s not picking up anything, I’d imagine the diagnostics would pick it up but if you’re willing to take the dash apart you could have a look yourself.

Also, worth restarting the system, quickest way I know is to change the theme, it will prompt to restart, click yes and wait a few mins. This has cleared GPS errors for me in the past (eMyWay). Pretty sure you can also do it by disconnecting the battery for a few mins then reconnecting.

If you need to download the software don’t buy it, I downloaded it from the DS3 App! It took a while to work out how but once into a memory stick it took about 30m minutes to install via USB port in my 17 plate performance line. Best of luck !!
