Newbie and soon to be DS3 owner

Hi all

The time has come to trade my E46 M3 in for a THP155 Dsport DS3 and signed the paperwork today.
With the weather worsening, what are the DS3's like in cold icy conditions as havent driven a front wheel drive (nor manual!) for a while.
Finally, are these cars remappable and if so, what gains are there to be had?

The DS3's Are Great In The Snow + Ice !

There's 2 Different Maps Available For The THP, One Takes You Up To About 185 And Another Takes It To Around 200

Picked her up yesterday.

They had 1 Thorium grey with black roof D Sport in the dealership but they called on Mon saying it came with leather seats when it should of been cloth.
Wasnt fussed about leather (as no heated seat option) but took it anyway as they did it for no extra

Matt, head over with us to Bromsgrove in April. Viezu are doing a bunch of remaps all for £250 regardless of the map you're looking for!

Coming from an E46 M3, its a lot smoother/softer and not nearly as raw which is what i wanted. Not really put my foot down yet as its new and lots of snow/slush about but yeah I like it a lot. Colour combo is really nice and round here i've not seen many DS3's and surprisingly gets some glances I love the shark fin and side profile and in this colour looks pretty stealthy.

Can't quite get seating position to my liking yet as you sit higher up even with seat fully dropped but i guess its a matter of getting used to it. Does feel quite nippy tho when turbo kicks in.
Biggest issue for me is using a manual again as last few cars have been flappy paddle jobbies.
I did find gears a little difficult/notchy from 1-2 when cold, is this normal as the car i test drove felt smoother? Maybe cold weather/new car is the reason?? Struggled to get it into 2nd at one point.

Not tried USB music thingy out yet which i want to but to cold to sit in car in sub zero temps

Put the kiddie seats in yesterday and theres more room in the back than i thought which was a pleasant surprise. Still gutted theres no option of heated seats or xeons headlights. They'd be my 1st 2 options on any car i'd buy from now.

Hi matt thanks for the review! I noticed the gear change from 1st to second was a bit odd on my test drive but more because I couldn't quite get a smooth change but that was in the HDI 90.... Guess its just something to get used too. Glad you're enjoying her! Good luck getting used to the manual! Any chance of some pics????

I've been trying but shes dirty now with a white layer of salt or covered in snow in mornings will try tom but good choice on colours

From other cars i've had remapped... *technically* it will more than likely void your warranty if the engine or part of the engine etc fails. Whether the map is picked up by dealer is a different matter tho.
