DS3 Air bags

Hi there,

In Australia, the DS3, along with other similar models like the C3, C4 and DS4 and DS5, have just had an airbag recall started, due to Takata bags being fitted to these models.

I'm curious as I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else in the Citroën world (like the UK) and was wondering if there had been.

Just had mine replaced on my 12-2011 DS3 DSport the other day by NorthShore Automotive the only Citroen authourised warranty repair shop in the North Shore of Sydney since they started to back out of the local market. It was painless and uneventful. My wifes 7-2011 C3 also in the recall but "they have to order the parts" for hers? Well that was odd.

We have heard nothing from Citroën UK and after checking my VIN and reg plate, there are no current recalls for my DS3. Can't find anything on the Internet about it, apart from for you guys in Oz. Maybe we use different Airbags in the UK.

Had my 12/2010 DS3 done at Parramatta - also a painless experience.

The C3 is not in the initial recall (July) so they probably haven't arranged logistics for it yet.

I'm thinking they might try and do it on the sly - ie. a Service Campaign - but who knows, it's pretty high profile I would have thought.
