  • ds3 issue - please help

Recently purchased a ds3 1.6hdi 2011. The issue occurred on the day of the purchase after fuelling up at a local station and driving 80 miles into the journey, the vehicle went into limp mode, error on the system showing up as ‘engine fault Egr/asr fault’ the vehicle on start was shaking but would only go to 2k revs, but the Cars was shaking quite heavily. AA recovered vehicle and said an injector and Egr valve need replacing. Local garage replaced the EGR & injector, the issue still continued, was told to replace a further injector, did that to. The error then was the ‘EGR positioning’ garage couldn’t understand and told me to pay £150 for a remap deletion, after this, the error was now another injector need replacing, I decided to replace the further 2 injectors. The vehicle now is having a clunky start, shaking still (not as bad) and has now also thrown an error of particle filter at risk of clogging with the service light. I am looking to take it to dealers but does anyone know what else I can do, also the injectors were recorded using a snap on majestic diagnosis and I have read online show use the Lorex.. .

    Anyone have any similar issues?!

Sorry that this isn't going to solve your immediate issue but am I reading it right but you've bought a car and practically as you've driven away, it's caused you all this grief?

Did you buy from a dealership or anything that would have a returns policy?

It was an auction vehicle purchased by a dealer I know, I have a warranty which I will be looking to use, just going to book in with Citroen tomorrow. Auction is sold as seen so pointless trying to go back there, I thought it was going to be a minor issue in which I didn’t mind replacing a few bits considering I paid trade price for the car, it’s given me scope to pay for general repairs, service to get it in a good condition.

Just thought if it’s something I missed, someone could help. The car drives perfect, but can’t the mechanic just does not know what to do next.

Hi Mark Akid i also have a 2011 Dstyle 1.6 E-hdi i did alot of research on the particulation filter errors when mine popped up this could be thrown up due to alot of reasons as you have had so many issues it may be a precontinery warning ive seen well over 100 posts about how some ones had the warning come on done the filter recharge and even a swap out and the error just comes back due to an unrelated problem unfortunately you wont know that till you have it done i guess im assuming its also stating low level fluid refill is needed ?

Sorry not very helpful but i would look at other issues before the filter..... is all im saying.

I’ll have a word with citroen tomorrow, a lot of people have advised to get the original software to diagnose the issue (lexa). So best to see what Citroen have to say. Will keep you posted

            Hi all,

just to let let you know, the issue was resolved and as suspected the injectors needed the specialist Citroen software to be programmed. Whilst I only needed one changing, I changed all 4 through a loca garage.

Always use a Citroen specialist to program the injectors, such a small issue and such a high expense... in future I will only see a Citroen specialist
