Do NOT BUY this car from tenby trade cars. Returned the car as unfit for purpose... had stretched timing chain... had the car for six weeks and only able to drive for only 7 days in that period.

I know a couple that lasted to 60k without too many issues- like pistons shattering. Then I lost contact with owners and they don't seem to be on the forums
But they were owners that took it easy
Also know at least 2 owners (Both used to come on here) that had 2 replacement enginessigpicJog on Noddy

Not owned this one but have had 3 others!!
I love them, they had some major concerns until the superseded the pistons to stronger versions.
Like all THP's, if they have had a new genuine chain, tensioner, guides and fuel pump fitted (expensive I know) it should be good.
The piston failure seems to be a fault with the pistons, the same concern happens with the 207 gti and the mini cooper s.
Fitting a set of forged pistons or a new (superseded) set from Citroen will cure this.
Its a shame that Citroen/Peugeot didn't recall them for new pistons early on, this would have saved all the negative press about the racings.
As soon as you search 'DS3 racing' in google, all you get is 'dont buy' 'engine blown' engine fault'.
All the negativity causes the resale value to drop.
You can buy one for less than £5000 now, in my opinion this is exceptional value for money!!.
