  • Wet in drivers footwell

Hi guys first post, hopefully one of many as I will be doing about 25000 miles a year!

however had it a few weeks and very pleased but I have noticed water from somewhere is entering the drivers footwell .
it seems to be more of the left had side of the drivers side but that's because I park it on an angle. I've read previous posts about leaves in scuttle and checked that cleared a few out but water does flow though to under the car.
it's a fabric if that makes any difference but that drain for the roof is on the passenger side of the scuttle and it's clear that side.

    so any ideas

    ta in advance

Can I ask if you ever got to the bottom of this?
I seem to have the same problem. I've read various threads on here about water ingress into various places inc. rear or passenger footwells even one about ingress into the drivers footwell but over by the door but mine appears similar in that it's to the left side of the drivers footwell. It's actually my wife's car so I've only had a quick look today while 'working from home' but it appears to be around the centre console area or possibly clutch pedal.
One of the threads I read mentioned the air con drain off pipe as a possible cause but not how to fix it. Anyone know if this is something I can easily check/fix myself?

In case anyone finds this thread in future, I thought I'd update it...
I didn't get chance to investigate it myself before the car developed a handbrake issue. So into the garage it went to have that fixed but also to see if they could find the leak. The first thing they checked was the scuttle drains which were clogged with leaves and mud. They cleared those and the leak has stopped.

Right, I know I'm at risk of talking to myself on this thread but it seems the leak has not stopped so I'm still looking. It's only leaking now if it's absolutely hodding it down (like it did at the weekend) so I still think that the drain clearing that the garage did in December has helped. It's just not fixed the whole problem.

It's actually in the garage for its MOT today but they've already told me that they've got two technicians on a course today and they won't be able to do an open-ended piece of work like leak finding unless they spot something obvious quickly.

After the last few days of hard rain, i have now found water coming in my boot :-( the joys.. I feel your pain higs, nothing worse than to be finding the area it's coming through.. I've stripped the whole back end today, found where it's running inside, just can't work out where on the outside now :@

            LOL. Fair point

Cant help you with the water ingress problem, but this part of your thread made me chuckle

In the old days I was occasionally posting 100 messages a day on here, and usually once a week around 50 (Sad I know, but I learnt lots and made a lot of acquaintences that have now moved on)
