Just made the move

Hi just made the move to a DS3 vti 1.6 non turbo it drove very sweet you could not hear it ticking over so quite i was impressed its a 11 plate 62000 miles on the clock I have started to read horror stories about the timing chain now i cannot stop worrying and I'm due to pick it up Thursday. somebody said its the tph engine is a nightmare can anyone put my mind at rest surely its not all of them that suffer as i see so many on the road

Yep, it's the THP engines that are notorious for having timing chain issues. The VTis are pretty solid

And remember, most people search out forums for advice when things are going wrong on their cars, rather than to say everything's working fine BeefMasta has had 155THPs for 7 years now and hasn't had any issues.
