Buying advise on 2012 DS3 DStyle Plus 1.6 Petrol

Hello all. I'm new to the DS3 Club and soon to hopefully be an owner of a DS3.

I've put a deposit on a 2012 DS3 DStyle Plus 1.6 petrol with only 35000 miles on the clock. I've checked the MOT history and nothing scary there!! Failure on worn tyres and headlight aim too high. Advisories minor leak to front exhaust and slightly distorted inside wheel edge. All things I will be insisting on being dealt with before I pay for it!!

However when speaking with my local mechanic he encouraged my wife and I to leave Citroen's well alone. He went on listing faults with the DS3....Temp sensors failing, electrical failures, ECG's failing and generally had nothing good to say about them. My wife was looking forward to having this car however his comments have spooked her!! Can anyone give some advise on common problems or things that may help her make a decision please? Hi Wookie.....I have run a DS4 for 3 years and now have a 16 plate eHDI prestige with the 6 speed box , its a cracking motor and quite honestly apart from general maintenance noting has gone wrong with it in 40000 miles , recoomendations about buying cars is purely subjective and open to personal opinion, Citroen /DS are no worse than any of the other major car manufacturers, go with what you want you mate
