DS3 central locking problem

Hi, Just wondered if someone can help. I have a DS3 2011 diesel. The battery died as I hadn't moved it for a while so I bump started it which worked fine, however, when I came to lock the car it won't let me. It sound like it wants to lock but it doesn't and the wing mirrors do not turn in. I have checked that the doors, boot and bonnet are all closed properly but still won't lock. The symbol in the car to say the car is alarmed is flashing very quickly. Help on this would be much appreciated.

The battery is too low on charge. Your battery is exhausted and cannot be charged up to a proper lever by the alternator

The central locking wont work, tailgate wont open, and you will have to open the car with a key

How long have u had the battery?

You could try charging it up, but best bet is to fit a new battery as when its charged up, if the battery is no good, you will just have the same problems

I know as Ive just had to fork out loads for a new battery- but i would prefer that rather than get stuck in middle nowhere

you could also try driving round for 20mins to half hour and give the battery a good charge, see if that will work for a while

Thanks Chris, sorry for delay only just seen your message. I think the battery is okay as it only died as it was stood for quite a few weeks. I'll give it a good run and see if that works and if not a new battery it is.
