  • Passenger seat top lever broke, no resistance

    Hi,

Maybe this is a common fault as the multiple levers do seem a bit ott, car is a 1.6 HDI Airdream 62 plate.

My daughter tried to get in the back via the passenger side, forced the lever and somethings gone so no resistance in the lever now.
I took it to my local garage who have said the can't do anything with it, take to a citroen dealer. They will charge £96.00 for an hours evaluation.

Alternatively I have sourced a 2nd hand one on line for £126.00 with free delivery, it's a bit 'dirty' but I assume it can be cleaned up.

Firstly, what do you advise I do, go with Citroen or go 2nd hand?
Secondly, if I go 2nd hand I assume it's just the 4 torque bolts and an air bag connector? What is the safest way to ensure the air bag doesn't go off, obviously disconnect the battery ....... anything else I need to know?

    Thanks in advance...

Yes- standard problem, That's why I scream when people try let themselves in to the back seats without letting me do it

If you search this site, there is a possibility that playing around with the seat may resolve the issue. However sometimes the cable breaks

Try get someone to look at it for £20, or have a look yourself (Search this site or google for the resolution first )

Then. yes, I probably would go for a used seat, maybe bit cheaper than that, Always put a cover on it (Make sure u get some sort guarantee- 3 months)

Then repair your seat for next time around :-)
