Help - Rattle noise when cold

Hi. I have a 2012 DS3 1.6 thp 155. It has started rattling when running cold. The noise is almost gone when the car is running at normal temperature. This seems to be a common issue but I can’t find a definitive answer. My car has a timing belt and not a chain as the tensioner comes up on many posts. The vacuum pump is another possibility. Any advise would be welcome. Thanks.

THPs have timing chains which need lubing up for a minute or 2 to get the oil warm and circulated (dont rev above 2k for first 5 minits or until temperature reached)

it may well be the chain tensioner that needs replacing, and it cant tense the chain up enough- has it been changed?

Hi. I have seen a video of the tensioner replacement on a mini which I am led to believe is similar to the DS3 engine. It seems quite straight forward - I can’t find any schematic or pictures for the location of the tensioner on my THP. Can anyone out there provide guidance please.

Mini THP engine is pretty much same engine as THP 155

False economy to change the tensioner only, change the chain too (Blieve it or not, it can stretch very slightly too)
