  • DS3 Rear Tail Light Damage

Hi guys I'm wondering if any of you know it even if big feet knows if its possible to get the plastic cover for the rear light as some.... Word I can't mention had caught the back of my DS3 rear headlight and its only shattered the plastic casing on it. Rang Citroen up and got told its £103 for a whole unit !? And £110 for fitting but my unit works fine all lights work so is there a way to not have to get a whole new unit for £213 and just get the plastic?
    Thanks in advance
Oh p.s exccess in insurance is about £600 so that's not an option

Nope, the unit comes seal as an all in one. You only options are to either buy it and fit it yourself, which is not that hard and should take you about 30 mins to do. The other option is to try and source one from a breakers yard.

If you cannot get it fixed for a while then as a temporary measure get a lens repair kit from Halfords for £6.99 as sticky clear covers on a roll for Red- Brake light, Orange- indicators and Clear- reversing lights. this will keep the car legal until you can fix it properly and protect the exposed electrics at the same time. Good luck.

If it only takes 30mins to fit how come they want £110 for fitting?
            £220/hr! Bargain!

              ^

Looks like the dealer has quoted safe for two hours fitting time, granted it shouldn't take as long as that to do.

temp repair as suggested, keep an eye on eBay for one coming up, then fit it yourself - so far as I recall from when I did my towbar electrics the unit is very easy to remove and refit - 10 mins?
