Saw one in the flesh for the first time yesterday. Well impressed.

Judging by the online prices, they'll be cheap as chips in a few months.

The tests say the ride is pants because it's based on the C4 rear suspension rather than the C5.

Anyone driven one and can give their impressions?

Nice but too big for me, I much prefer cars the size of our exquisite DS3.
DS3 Racing, also available in White!!!

See this weeks Auto Express it is tested against the BMW 3 Series and VW Passat CC.

Not bad results. Shares same chassis with the Peugeot 3008

DS4 rides much better than DS5 which tends to crash about a bit more and oddly there is more road roar in the DS5 compared to the DS4. That said the DS5 is a fabulous car and it draws loads of attention when I drove it about, interior is tight but that's the way is has been designed - to cocoon the driver. Fit and finish was top rate but a few things could have been better, the awful silver finish in cars with the club seats for example and why on the centre console not finish it off with that lovely slate trim instead of feeling a rubber black bit.

Price wish again our dealer network is having a hazing sale - stupid really because all that does is scares people away from the brand because Citroen does nothing to stop it or protect values. I would have hoped we would have learned from the C6 days, beautiful car which drove like nothing else, rave reviews then the Dealers stepped in and shot it between the eyes with crazy discounting.

And Citroen wonder why no one sees them as a premium brand, it's because in our hearts all the dealers are still 'stack 'em high, sell cheap' people.

It's hard to understand why the DS4 should ride better than the DS5 - aren't they both based on the C4/308/3008 torsion beam rear suspension? Pity the DS5 hasn't got the multi-link set up from the C5, or even better a hydropneumatic jobbie like the Xantia Activa - it could have been a great motorway/A road wafter in the style of the old, big Citroens like the DS, CX and XM, eating up huge distances with ease.

Do the cheaper versions with the smaller wheels ride any better?

Others have also commented on the road noise - again, i wonder if it would be quieter on smaller/thinner tyres? (but then it wouldn't look so good...)

I drove the DS5 DStyle with the 18" - I would avoid the 19" because of the ride and road roar. Will admit I drove both cars over the same drive home and even I was surprised, I used a decibel app on my mobile to judge the difference and the DS4 was, by far, the quieter car of the two.

I think the suspension choice on DS5 is more to do with the utterly pointless hybrid system and the weight it throws onto the rear axle, but again I would have thought that Citroen would have installed the Hydra-active suspension from C5 and made this car a sporty looking cruiser.

My advice to people is that don't go for the DS5 DSport model but stick with the DS5 DStyle and add the bits you want, the difference in the ride is noticeable.
