  • Rear Bumper and Light Cluster...

    morning all,
gutted, angry, frustrated, helpless and everything I can't think of just now...

scum of the earth set my wheelie bin on fire in the early hours and yes, my 4 day old dsport plus was sat next to it. rear bumper melted, light cluster destroyed. everything else seems ok, even the paint! of course i'll get it checked out. just trying to get my head around costs before i log the claim and destroy my no claims and get hit with the excess.

can anyone help with costs including VAT?

    cheers, Dave.

Sorry to hear that I tend to think that anything under £1000 is worth getting done without going through the Insurance. I had a claim for £1000 when someone drove into my car and then drove off without leaving details, I paid for it with increased premiums for 5 years, especially as I had another 2 other no fault claims in the period, which made me look high risk to all the Insurance companies.

Know a little how you feel some jerk just destroyed the grill on my wife's VW trying to get the logo off. If they needed it that bad I would have bought one for them at least I wouldn't have to pay for a grill also.

              That's rotten luck, mate.

A small local bodyshop will be much cheaper than the sharks who do mainly insurance work - their charges are ridiculous, because the insurance cos don't make enough of an effort to drive their prices down.

i shouldn't have to but i am now putting in some sort of CCTV. i live on the quietest street in the whole wide world (arguably) but when anything does happen it's always my car that seems to get it! :-(
even if the police can't do anything about it at least i can put up posters of the suspects around the village for my own satisfaction.

                Dave.

am really sorry for you mate. It is disgusting and the person/persons that did it should be put in the bin and set fire to. I am firmly in the eye for an eye camp! Cheer up, you have the best combo engine spec possible and all being well should enjoy the ride when you get the bumper sorted! Don't let it ruin your experience

A news report earlier this week reckoned that the Fiat 500 was the car most likely to be vandalised, but I reckon the DS3 must come close. Of all the cars that park on my street, mine's the only one that's been keyed, even though there are others that are newer, & cost considerably more.

(Or maybe it's just that someone doesn't like me...)
