  • Club Meets

I have been on this site a while now and with the summer (hopefully good weather) coming up i thought it was about time i attended one of these meets.

It would be my first club meet and i'm a bit apprehensive about going on one as i wouldn't know anyone.
What kind of things do you guys get up to on them?

    Regards

Go for it LUFCe- we can compare resprays! How bout the National? Taking my partner me- wouldnt be allowed away for the night otherwise!

Ive only met AJ07 on here and am to meet a few more next Sunday (Partner not coming to that until we leave for Gatwick)

Almost 20 years ago I went to a meet not knowing anyone (Not cars) and I'm the lead of that local organisation now!

Why not meet up local with someone else first so you got someone youve already met- or take a mate to a meet?

Everyone come to the National it's central and just down the road for you Tommy. Check out the thread frequently as hopefully new things will be added as we get nearer. It's ticket only and now seven weeks away.

We all joined this forum not knowing each other, since that time 2-ish years ago? I've been to France with some of the guys off here, stayed overnight in Wales with some others and in total covered a couple thousand miles to and from meets. It's part of the fun of owning a car that you appreciate and want to appreciate with other people.

If you're the shy type then why not bring a friend with you as somebody already mentioned? That way on the journey to a meet, you can't complain about not having any cup holders

I was apprehensive about my first meet. Firstly for not knowing anyone from here and secondly it was to be my first ever car meet.

I found out that ds3adi lived a few miles down the road, so we arranged to meet up on the way to the Bromsgrove Rolling Road Meet. When there I kept my self to myself and hid behind my camera a lot. But once I knew who was who from here, it was easy to chat and catch up. Getting to recognise cars and placing the owner and user on here.

Once I had been a part of one of the convoys I was hooked!

Generally we will chat and catch up about updates on cars etc, being like minded people of course we'll talk about DS3's But as you get to know people on here, and find other common ground it's easy to waffle on and make good friends.

I went to France this year with kaibilly (who travelled from Belgium) Arlow and ds3adi - and apart from finding out that Martin (adi) likes pineapple on his pizza we all had an amazing weekend

Wales was epic - going to the Rally, the stages, the banter, the cars, the Spirit of DS3's.

Our photo's are a great way to get a feel of the meets - here

The Meet Diary is good way to stay up to date - here as is the section it is in - Club meets

I've always gone on my own - as no one really wants to get up at silly o'clock at the weekends and come with me, but ALWAYS felt welcomed and at home with this bunch

Oh how things have changed since I have owned WTF - always cleaning her, getting up early to go to meets (which has meant quite a few quite Friday/Saturday nights - a big deal for me) hooked on taking photo's and ALWAYS online here getting to know you guys.

Honestly - after the first one - you'll be making your way to every meet you can

I've also been to meets with groups that I first came into contact with over the internet, and it goes surprisingly well once you get there. It helps that you're all drawn together by a strong interest in a particular subject.

I'm not sure that I'll be able to show my face at a car meet. I have never been one to keep my car in that gleaming 'just washed' state. I don't think I would be able to take the embarrassment of how dirty my car would be. On the other hand, I have never owned a car that is as nice as my DS3, so maybe the washing/waxing/claying/foaming/polishing bug will catch on.

i was new to it all this time last year, but had such great fun i kept going. Checking out everyones cars, getting to meet them in the flesh, taking cool photos, discussing mods n stuff, and the convoys are awesome.

And yeh i was rubbish at washing cars but now i enjoy trying to get it clean for meets and when i have the time. Spent $$$ on cleaning stuff
