    Neighbour
Good morning, this is my very first message so please go easy.

I have a decent(ish) job which allows me to have a company car from an extensive list of manufacturers and a fuel card for business and unlimited personal miles. Presently I have a 2010 T4 Prius in pearlescent white. Now before you all scoff, this is a fantastic car and a lot quicker than I expected (especially in the power mode). My current mileage is 53k and I can pick a new car to arrive when the Prius hits 60K. I have picked a 120bhp petrol DS3 DStyle+ in Sport Red, black wheels, roof and mirrors. Been told expected delivery date is 3rd September, which will make it a 62 plate.

The title of this message says; well about 6 weeks ago, I was having a chinwag with my mate over the road, got talking about cars and as he also has a company car, asked him what he was thinking of getting next. He didn't know so I discreetly asked were Citroën an option for him. When he replied they weren't, I knew it was safe for me to boast about my little beauty that I had ordered and that was that.

Imagine my horror on Wednesday evening when I looked out of the living room window and saw a really tasty DS3 in white with black wheels, roof and mirrors in front of his house. Initially I thought that it looked gorgeous and wondered whose it could have been. My face dropped when I saw my neighbour come out of his house, big smile on his face, keys in hand and as soon as I saw the wing mirrors fold out and the indicators flash, my heart sank as I knew it was his car. Went out to him, trying to look made up for him, looking around car etc etc when I casually asked "I thought you couldn't pick a Citroën as a company car with your job" (absolutely spewing inside at this point but trying to not let it show). "Got a new job which doesn't have a list, just get an allowance to get whatever within reason"
Even picked the 120 petrol as well albeit a different colour. I am a bit OCD with keeping my car washed, polished and waxed etc so will just have to keep mine cleaner than his when it arrives. 15 weeks to go ( have to wait till September as Prius has to be as near as possible to 60k as possible when get new car, currently doing 2000 miles a month)

Moral of this story "should've kept my mouth shut"

I know John, missus said that to me, just feels like an age to wait. Hope it's worth the wait as not even test drove one yet. Did go to Bury Car Centre in Tottington in Bury on 13th February 2012 and spoke with a salesman called Nick. He didn't have the petrol one in for a test-drive but assured me he would get hold of one within a week and ring me immediately. Guess what....... Not heard a thing from him. Not very good from a salesman when a potential customer is looking to buy a car from him.

Can be sure though that when I do get the car, I won't be going to that dealer for servicing etc. He has pi**ed on his chips.

Bcc on tottington road were really good with me, I had no complaint with the service I received! when I picked mine, I even got a lift from home to the dealeship so I didn't have to mess around leaving my car there.

My only gripe was the pretty naff valet on the outside of the car, bits of polish residue and fluff from the pad left in between the bodywork!

I did something like this to a customer, he came in and bought a DS4 in Pearl White, a week later his neighbour came in to see me as my customer had spoken highly of me and he bought a DS4 as well in a higher spec!

Good job they both get on very well as have been mates for years!
