I have been reading various theories on the internet about birds and shiny things causing them to empty their bowels.

Get it off asap...
Bird poo are hazard chemicals..... Had a splash on my hood, didn't think about it first time, was on it for 4-5 days till i washed the car, u can still see the spot....

I had some on my bonnet for less than 24hrs which will need machine polishing out

Always thought its the digestive acids that make their way through the birds guts (Onto cars)
Keep a bottle of water and a small sponge in the boot always
AND in the DS3 a bottle of polish too (Sad eh)
If anyone takes the P when I do it (straight away when seen) just tell them protecting my investment (Quite true)

I clean it off as soon as I discover it. Hot water soaked sponge or cloth/tea towel and let it soak on the poo for a few minutes and it should wipe off. If it doesn't rinse the cloth out and cover the stain again and leave it and it should wipe off. A good waxed or polished car helps.
